What is Quickedit? Quickedit is simple and fast sound editor for Gnome. Currently is supported only Linux on x86 architecture. It is still in development and many features and functions are missing. Quickedit can edit WAV and MP3 files. For decoding MP3 files is used external program mpg123, WAV files are played directly. Quickedit is block oriented sound editor: instead of direct working with files it works with blocks of pointers to files. Quickedit is released under GNU General Public Licence. Features Multithreaded playing of WAV files Fast loading WAV and MP3 files Block oriented Can edit huge files Implemented functions Load WAV and MP3 file to project Playing: play, stop, pause, play start/end of selection Open and save project from/to file Resize sound block Selection by mouse Clipboard: cut, copy and paste Export to WAV or MP3 file User configuration: colors, program paths Requirements - libraries, programs ... Libraries: Gtk+, Gnome Gtkmm (tested with version 1.2.5), Gnomemm (tested with version 1.2.0) - C++ wrappers for Gtk+ and Gnome Libsigc++ (tested with version 1.0.3) - C++ signal system used by Gtkmm and Gnomemm Programs: mpg123 - decoding MP3 lame - encoding to MP3 sox - format conversions rpm - for creating RPM package (optional) System: Open Sound System (OSS) or ALSA with enabled OSS emulation or Esound
